  • Accommodation:Otago Polytechnic guarantees international students their choice of accommodation and can make the appropriate arrangements
  • Home stay: ($NZ154.00 weekly)Two meals a day, individual bedroom with study facilities and a supportive New Zealand family
  • Supervised Flatting ($NZ165.00 weekly):New fully furnished apartments with four dinners per week, overseen by pastoral supervisors
  • Halls of Residence ($193.00 weekly):Supervised, fully catered accommodation within purpose-built complexes

English Language Requirement

  • Certificates - English Language Proficiency of IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 525

  • Degrees - (Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Therapy) IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 575

Cost of Living

Work Permits

International students can work for a limited amount of hours during the academic year and full time in vacations, bit it is not possible for them to earn enough in these periods to support themselves.

Insurance

It is mandatory for International students to have medical insurance while they are studying in New Zealand. Staff in the International Office can advise on the types of insurance available and can provide the appropriate application form.
