English Language

EIT, Hawke's Bay has a well-established School of English Language and is an accredited IELTS Testing Center. General English and Preparation for IELTS classes are available. International students who graduate from the English Language course with the English level required for an Academic programme can apply to continue their study at degree, diploma or certificate level.

Academic Year and Admissions

Many academic programmes have two intakes per year in February and July. English Language courses are available between January and December. EIT Hawke's Bay is proud of its flexible approach to education and is able to design programmes to suit the needs of both individuals and groups.

Accommodation

Both home stay and student flatting accommodation options are available. Home stay families provide students with a private room, full board and helpful advice. The EIT Residential Village has 12 flats each housing six students. The weekly rent for a private, furnished bedroom in the Village includes phone and power charges.

Support Services

EIT Hawke's Bay offers excellent student support services in a modern and well equipped environment. The International Center takes special care of its students from overseas. Learning support is available to students studying in mainstream programmes. Students are given assistance with accommodation, insurance, immigration, welfare and health needs. Activities such as ski trips, and sightseeing, etc are arranged for international students.

International Links
EIT Hawke's Bay currently has links with a number of international institutions in USA, Canada, Japan, China and Australia. Within New Zealand EIT is closely linked with industry, commerce and the professions. These links give EIT the opportunity to design programmes with an international focus, which are both academically and vocationally relevant.

• Accommodation: Home stay $150 pw, EIT Residential Village rent $100 pw plus $200 bond
• Recommended weekly personal expenses: $70-$120 (excl accommodation fee)
• Airport Pickup: Free from Napier Airport
• Meet & Transfer Service Fee ($50) at Auckland International Airport if required
• Administration fee: $100 for 6 months or less, $200 for 6 months-1 yr
