Overview:

The University adheres to internationally recognised standards of excellence at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Students are permitted to combine two or more related fields in their undergraduate degree - a flexibility which allows them to better adapt their academic plan to their chosen profession.

The University is well-known for the applied nature of its courses which prepare graduates for professions ranging from journalism, teaching, architecture and law to computer engineering, laboratory science, graphic design, nursing and accounting - in fact virtually all professions.

Courses relate closely to the educational requirements of employers and registered professional bodies. This is, in part, due to the strong links the University maintains with industry and the professions.

Accomodation

Accommodation options include: Student Residences (on-campus); Boarding with Australian Families (Homestay); Group House (sharing private rental).

The estimated average price for on-campus accommodation in 1998 is $1,850 per semester.

Homestay: approximate cost $60-$90 (room only); $120 - $140 (full board).

Group House: As private accommodation costs approximately $160 a week minimum for an apartment, private rental usually involves sharing with others.
