Overview:

Murdoch was the second, government research university to be established in Western Australia and today is home to more than 11500 students and 1200 staff who come from every racial, ethnic and social group in Western Australia. It is also host to over 1100 international students from 40 different countries. The University is of a size which allows it to retain a friendly and informal atmosphere, which encourages effective staff-student interaction.

The University can be found in Perth's southern suburbs, about 20 minutes by car (15 kms) from the central business district, and 10 minutes (8km) from the port city of Fremantle. A new campus has recently been established at Rockingham, less than an hour's drive from the main campus.

Murdoch offers a wide range of programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level incorporating Master's programmes, Graduate Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas, Graduate Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Postgraduate Certificates.

Accomodation

Student Village facilities include computer labs, tutorial rooms, three large laundries with coin operated washing machines and dryers, a recreational room, music room, TV lounge and sporting facilities including volleyball and basketball courts.

The University employs an off-campus Housing Officer who helps students who prefer not to live in university housing or who are unable to be housed at Student Village, in finding accommodation in either homestay (full board) or a shared flat or house with other students.
