Over recent years Glasgow Caledonian University has invested £90 million on developing the campus, with the most recent addition to the campus being the state-of-the-art learning centre. All of the new facilities have been purpose built to meet the needs of students.
- Library/ Learning Centre
As part of the University's commitment to providing the highest standards of facilities for students, it has recently built the Learning Centre, which includes over 1800 study places and access to computers. In addition to social group zones, exhibition space and cafe, the building houses a student services mall including careers advice and counselling.
- Real Learningcafé
The Real Learningcafé provides students with a place to relax, chat, eat, drink and take the opportunity to develop computer skills, access online learning and network with other learners.
- Computing facilities
The University has many computer labs which offer free access to the internet and email for all students.
- Sports facilities
The University has a modern sport and recreation facility, Arc, which provides access to a range of health and fitness services and facilities. Whether a student wishes to relax at a yoga class, work out in the gym, take part in one of the fitness training classes, play badminton or book in for a therapeutic massage, Arc should be able to offer an activity for everyone. Staff are on hand to provide help, assistance and to give exercise advice in a safe and comfortable environment and to ensure that all users feel relaxed and welcome.
- Teaching facilities
The health building enables the University to bring together teaching and research in the professions allied to medicine and includes a state-of-the-art virtual hospital where students will develop their clinical and interpersonal skills in an environment which simulates real work experience.
- Catering facilities
The student refectory seats 900 people and is the largest student refectory in Scotland. There are also coffee areas around the campus, which enable students to catch up with friends in informal surroundings.
- The Students' Union
The Students' Union is one of the most popular places for students to socialise, its facilities include a nightclub, bars, a games floor, a shop, a café and a diner. The Union is also home to the Students' Association Welfare Office, where staff can help out with any problems that students may encounter during their studies.

To help students settle into university life and help them get the most out of their studies by dealing with any problems that they may face, there is a full range of advisers available to talk about subjects such as finance, health, special needs and religion. There is a dedicated International Student Adviser and careers service that can provide employment opportunities and career advice.
The Students' Association is a self-governing body which provides entertainment and recreational facilities and allows all students a say in how the University is run. It is run by students, for students. As soon as a student enrolls at Caledonian they become a member and this allows them access to all facilities and support services, although they can choose to opt out of membership at any time without being disadvantaged.
The Students' Union 'The Bedsit' has been recently refurbished and aims to create an atmosphere and reputation to rival many of the city's favourite pubs and clubs. Here students will be able to relax, chat and have a drink with friends after lectures or have a night out at one of the many theme nights that run throughout the week.
The Association also takes an active involvement in sports and recreation, with over 40 clubs and societies all run by students, from football to swimming, snow-boarding to Tae Kwon-do and boxing to badminton. Non-sports clubs range from the International Student Society to the Debating Society, which has successfully entered many inter-varsity debating competitions in places such as Oxford and St Andrews. New clubs, such as The Internet Society and the Film Club, increase the range of activities for students to get involved in. All clubs give students a chance to meet students from different years, as well as giving them the chance to widen their social circle. All the clubs and societies aim to be cheap and easy to join, and a list can be picked up from the Association's General Sports Council. If a student doesn't see anything which caters for their particular needs, they can set up their own with the help, advice and funding provided by the Association.
